ISLAMABAD, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the country's top anti-corruption institution, said on Saturday it is committed to helping the government to foster a transparent and conducive environment to attract foreign investments.
An NAB spokesperson said in a statement that NAB has been accelerating reforms, improving oversight, and strengthening internal accountability as part of the government's wider efforts to attract foreign investments, especially under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
"NAB has undergone far-reaching reforms since 2023 to redefine its mandate and improve its credibility," said the statement, adding that the NAB has been ensuring efficient oversight of major corruption cases while reducing bureaucratic paralysis, improving investor confidence, and safeguarding legitimate business activities.
NAB had strengthened the legal framework and improved administrative mechanisms to promote rule of law and create a predictable environment necessary for foreign investment, it added.
NAB has also established Accountability Facilitation Centers to support investors and business persons seeking clarity on procedural matters, according to the statement. Enditem
