Buns past their expiry date were thrown into mixers for recycling.

Illegal chemicals, such as artificial sweetener, were added casually.

And yellow coloring was used to make the old buns look fresh.

When asked to try the recycled buns, one worker inside the factory rejected.

Worker of Recycled Buns Manufacturer, said, "No way. I would rather die than eat this."

To one's surprise, the buns are in great demand in Shanghai.

"We produce 30,000 such buns each day and ship to 400 retailing outlets in Shanghai. But still we are running behind in supplying the demand." Worker said.
