The mountain villages around Yushu are difficult to reach, due to the poor traffic conditions. But they do not prevent rescuers' efforts to help the villagers who are suffering even more than those inside the town. Today our reporter brings us a story about a teenage lama in a remote village, whose family has had lots of help from the militia from Sichuan province.

The impressive scene of cleaning up the debris is not strange in the last four days, but this one is happening in Changu, a village twenty kilometers away from downtown Yushu.

All these efforts are being made to find the grains which are valuable for the parents of Ginbataai.

Fifteen year old Ginba is a Lama in the nearby temple. His grandfather was killed in the earthquake. And his parents' house was totally destroyed. The entire family was in despair until the militia appeared three days after the earthquake.

Ginzatazi, earthquake victim, said, " I did not know what to do when I saw my home because a big mess. But I know there must be someone coming to save us. I watched TV and saw many people were helping the victims in Sichuan earthquake. They will come to help us too."

Heishui Militia became nation famous for their effective rescue in Wenchuan Earthquake two years ago.

They built up the temporary shelter for Ginba's parents. Even though Ginba's father lost his father, he feels more or less consoled as the rest of the family does not have to stay outdoor.

The disaster makes the young monk more mature.

" I have to stay at home now, looking after my younger brothers and sisters. This is very different from my life in the temple. But I am not afraid of all these, when I see them working hard on the damaged houses. I'd rather stay in the plastic house they built. It's safe." Ginzatazi said.

Ginba's parents rely on him much more than ever. The family is not a rich one, but their biggest wealth, the yaks, are safe. Their only expectations is to obtain government compensation as soon as possible.
