Condé Nast Traveler magazine has unveiled the results of its readers’ survey on the world's 20 most friendly cities.

The two major countries in Oceania, New Zealand and Australia, once again prove their popularity among visitors. Queenstown, Auckland and Christchurch of New Zealand, and Hobart and Margaret River of Australia, all made the "friendliest" list.

Southern Brazil’s Florianópolis tops the list thanks to its "gorgeous" views and "nice people," with a highest rating of 95.8 out of 100. Visitors of Hobart (Tasmania, Australia), were in turn charmed by the "kind, friendly" natives of the area, gaining the city the second place. Thimpu, the largest city and capital of Bhutan, ranks third and is considered "a fascinating combination of modern and ancient."

Four American cities and three cities of Ireland are also featured on the list.

The survey is based on a number of factors, including "friendliness," and the cities with the highest scores have made the list. However, anything and everything -- including location, size, scenery and food -- can make or break a travel destination’s allure. The outcome sometimes has nothing to do with the mannerisms or behavior of locals.

 Cork, Ireland

Cork is a "beautiful seaside city" in southern Ireland, as well as a "very accommodating" place. People are "friendly and helpful" and the city is "quaint and lovely," with a "grand scenery." One reader said that in Cork, there’s "always something to see and do, no matter what time of year."
