The local environmental protection bureau reported Monday that air and water conditions in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality have remained normal since the destruction of gas storage tanks Sunday.
The report was made through rigorous monitoring of the municipality's air condition and the water quality of the Jialing River, a branch of the Yangtze River, said an official with the bureau.
The quality of air over Chongqing is good and nothing abnormal was found in downriver water of the Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant, where the chlorine gas leaked on Thursday night, says the report.
The report also says that all water indexes in Chongqing's urban areas were staying within normal ranges.
The accident left nine dead or missing and three injured and forced over 150,000 people to evacuate from the surrounding areas last weekend.
