A major bridge was completed and opened to traffic Monday in Yigong Township of Bomi County in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, which was hit by a large landslide last June.
The two-tower suspension bridge is 258 meters long and 5.2 meters wide. The main span of the bridge is 210 meters long and 3.7 meters wide and the tower is 31.5 meters high.
As an important part of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, the bridge can handle both cars and large-scale trucks, said a local official.
Construction on the bridge started in last October after the original bridge and some highways were destroyed by a large landslide in the township last June.
