China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co, the nation's third-largest
insurer, said its premium income totaled 11.8 billion yuan (US$1.6
billion) in January as economic growth boosted demand.
The insurer's life-insurance subsidiary earned 8.2 billion yuan
in premiums last month, the company told the Shanghai Stock
Exchange.
Its property insurance arm had premiums of 3.6 billion yuan.
