The Beijing Forum for Symphonic Music 2025 will be held from Nov. 26 to 28 at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), bringing together over 300 representatives from 190 arts institutions across more than 30 countries and regions.
Since its inception in 2019, the forum has become an influential international platform for symphonic dialogue. The 2025 program will address four major topics, including the evolution of arts festivals and performance seasons, the impact of digital technology, the localization of symphonic music, and the rise of younger and more cross-disciplinary trends.
This year's event will also feature expanded international participation, welcoming first-time attendees such as Italy's Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Uruguay's Orquesta Sinfónica del Sodre. The agenda has been expanded by including experts in ethnic music and digital technology, with the aim of exploring the future of symphonic development.
Representatives from leading institutions including Germany's Bavarian State Opera will deliver keynote speeches. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, a featured participant, will also perform two concerts at the NCPA around the event dates.
The opening ceremony will be livestreamed on several online platforms.
