Editor's note: Located southeast of Dinghui Bridge in Beijing's Haidian district, Dinghui Park provides a relaxing, pleasant environment for nearby residents to escape the hustle and bustle of their busy urban lives with its lush greenery and small squares for fitness and leisurely gathering.
This 11.85-hectare park is one of Beijing's many green spaces. As of the end of 2024, there were 1,100 parks and 2,015 km of vegetated corridors across the city, as the local government looks to further beautify the living environment by increasing spaces for recreation.
According to a special plan recently approved by the municipal authority, a holistic park and recreation system will be completed by 2030, which will include more than 1,200 parks and 7,000 km of green corridors.
